Proposed signature event

It began with a gala.
Fifty years later, it returns.

Xi Iota was chartered on June 16, 1979. Later that summer, a gala in the Student Center marked the occasion. Brothers are proposing a scholarship gala for UCF Homecoming, Fall 2029, as the signature event of the fiftieth year.

The first gala

Summer 1979.

Xi Iota was chartered on June 16, 1979. Later that summer, a gala in the Student Center marked the occasion.

We want to tell this part of the story properly. Once a committee is in place, we will invite Brothers to share memories, photographs and programs from that night through a separate collection process.

The vision

One night for
every generation.

The vision is a formal evening bringing charter members, every line since, families and friends into one room.

It would honor the seven charter members and recognize Brothers across the decades. What that recognition looks like is still for Brothers to shape.

The Xi Iota Museum · Proposed

Every piece
has a story.

A line jacket. A Homecoming shirt. An award. A newspaper clipping someone thought to save.

The gala vision includes a Xi Iota Museum featuring memorabilia from across the decades. Together, these pieces would tell the story of the Brothers, traditions and moments that shaped Xi Iota.

A separate call for photos and memorabilia will follow once a committee is in place to coordinate submissions, care for loaned items and arrange their return. There is nothing to submit or send at this stage.

The purpose

Reinvest.

The gala is proposed as the scholarship event of the celebration, so the fiftieth year gives something back to students at UCF.

The vision includes presenting scholarships at the gala, with opportunities for Brothers, Lines, families and businesses to help fund those awards.

Work is underway to establish an independent alumni association to support this effort. Scholarship criteria, administration and sponsorship opportunities would be developed and approved before fundraising begins.

Brothers’ input will help shape the gala, its priorities and how we recognize those who contribute. No scholarship awards or sponsorship packages are confirmed, and no contributions are being accepted at this stage.

Proposed sponsorship opportunities

Make your mark.
Give something back.

Brothers, Lines, families and businesses would have opportunities to help bring the gala and its scholarship purpose to life.

Proposed sponsorship opportunities could include funding scholarships, supporting the Xi Iota Museum or helping underwrite the evening. Recognition and package details are still being developed, and we want to hear what would make participation meaningful to you.

Interested in sponsoring individually, with your Line or through your business? Let us know through the interest form.

Why Homecoming?

The 1979 gala was held in the summer, close to the charter date. We are proposing Homecoming weekend for the fiftieth so the largest number of Brothers and families can be in Orlando together. Charter Day weekend in June remains its own gathering.

Help shape it

What should this night be?

Tell us if you would attend, who should be honored and what this night has to include. Indicate whether you would like to help shape the gala vision, with no committee commitment required.

The initial discovery call has concluded, but Brothers can still make their voices part of the plan.

Your contact information also helps build the Xi Iota Alumni Directory for future outreach, fellowship and brotherly connection. How we will use your information.

Xi Iota 50 is being spearheaded by Bro. Gedeon Richemond and Bro. Daniel Helligar, Spring 2017 initiates of the Xi Iota Chapter.
